How to answer a pollster

In the Chronicle of Higher Education, Dan Greenberg has a profound suggestion of how to respond to political pollsters. Namely, LIE! He suggests that polls are so consistently inaccurate that a little push, namely dishonest respondents, could just kill them off all together.

So, whenever a pollster calls, tell them you are voting for Bob Barr. Really screw up the system. Make it a game, see if you can dumbfound the dithering heads on the TV. It could be fun.

Skip Carey RIP

It was announced that Skip Carey, the voice of the Atlanta Braves for all of my formative years, passed away today. For practically all of my life watching the Braves and listening to Skip and Pete Van Wieren and for many years Ernie Johnson Sr. was a daily experience between April and September. Back then, the Braves were so bad that it was truly comical.

That Skip and the rest of the gang have never been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame is a travesty and a sign of how the baseball establishment is so dominated by the annoying teams in New York and Boston.

Skip will be missed. The crews today are so inferior and yet it is all we have left.

Life and death of external harddrives

I have a Cavalry external hard drive that I had been using as my data backup which just inexplicably up and died last week. Very Annoying.

I was unsure what I would do to replace it but now I may have my answer. Thanks to Popular Mechanics which is one of the coolest outfits around.
