Life and death of external harddrives
I have a Cavalry external hard drive that I had been using as my data backup which just inexplicably up and died last week. Very Annoying.
I was unsure what I would do to replace it but now I may have my answer. Thanks to Popular Mechanics which is one of the coolest outfits around.

In the Army there was an officer who had one of our issued Panasonic Toughbook laptops with the tire marks of a Hummer running across it after "someone" left it on the hood then drove off. It fell off and got run over but still worked fine.
I understand they don't make them anymore though.
