Horror Movies

This seems to be the year of the Horror Movie. For a genre that was deader than the proverbial doornail not long ago, it seems like there is a new one about every week. I have not seen all of them, though I probably will at some time, I did see The Ring Two this past weekend. While I did not find it particularly scary, it was a rather well made supernatural thriller. Peril grows through the film, and both the concerned caregiver and the love interest are killed but both are rather understated. The guy even died off camera, we know he's dead, but there was no real need to show the event, just the aftermath.

This is a film I would recommend. It is not gory or explicit in its violence so would work for viewers who don't appreciate blood spewing across a wall. It has a strong moral as well, TV is evil. Not one I particularly agree with but the argument could be made.

Since we are entering a period that will see the release of a number of films that I am excited to see, I will probably comment on films a fair amount in days to come.

I wanted to write a film and I thought the best way to do so was to train myself within the field... It was just like a cycle of people trying to make it, not making it, doing extra work, and it was pretty depressing in the end.
